For 143 years and 5 generations, our family has been dedicated to the craft of beautiful eyewear. Founded in St. Louis in 1879, our ancestor A.P. Erker created the Erkers Optical Co., offering anything with a lens.
We were the first optical laboratory west of the Mississippi River, served as the official photographer for the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, and custom designed the goggles that Charles Lindberg wore during his flight over the Atlantic.
After narrowing our focus towards eyeglasses and perfecting our craft, the family business grew into a global eyewear design and manufacturing house at the forefront of optic design and expert frame craftmanship.
Inspired by the generations that came before, we strive to uphold our family's legacy through the craft of beautiful, handcrafted eyewear that is capable of lasting a lifetime.
We have two in-house brands, Erker's 1879 and NW77th, and are a proud distributer of Monoqool, a brand with deep roots in the Danish design tradition that creates 3D printed eyewear using screwless technology.
Our products are made with the strongest materials possible, crafted using a surgical-grade stainless steel and our custom designed acetate color blends.
